Wakatipu Aero Club
Wakatipu Aero Club Incorporated is owned by its members. It was founded in 1970. Its club house was built by its members and was one of the first buildings at what is now the Queenstown International Airport. Find out more in our club history.
The Wakatipu Aero Club exists primarily to promote private flying. This it does by being a base from which members can fly aircraft operated by the club or their own aircraft. It offers training towards the Private Pilot Licence, the Commercial Pilot Licence and flight instructor ratings. It also offers its renowned mountain flying course.
In order to provide a first job to graduates of its CPL and mountain flying courses the club runs a commercial arm, Air Wakatipu.
